Today marks the beginning of the last big Saddlebred horse show of the year in New England. Lucky for me, it's only 25 minutes from where I now live - enabling me to pop over for a session or two.
I got some pretty cool news last week at the barn. After my ride last Thursday, my trainer told me that a girl who has a couple of horses in training at the barn is going to let me ride one of her horses after this show and see if I like him. If we get along, I may be showing him in a few regional shows next year. A nice compliment. This horse is pretty game. His owner is an exceptional rider and I've enjoyed watching them at a couple of shows this year. Not an easy horse - and it will be a fun challenge. His first class of the show is this evening, I'll be watching him with a different eye tonight. Basically, holy s&%t - how am I going to ride him? Haha.
I'll bring the camera along and will post photos if I get some good ones.
